Celebrating 25 Years of Ending Homelessness for KC Families

Community LINC is a local nonprofit that provides interim housing for homeless families in Kansas City. Their mission is to end homelessness, impact poverty and remove barriers to self-sufficiency for the families they serve. The organization provides interim housing, counseling and life skills coaching. They teach parents about health and nutrition, how to find a job and how to plan a budget. They also help the children through mentoring, tutoring and living in a safe and secure setting.

2014 marks thier 25th year of operation and recent study showed that 94% of the families who left for permanent housing since 2008 have not become homeless again. We think those kind of results are pretty amazing.

Each year Community LINC hosts an event called "The Rent Party" to raise funds so they can provide these important services to local families. With KC’s support they raised over $750,000 at this years event alone.

Our team was proud to attend this wonderful night with auctions, dinner, dancing and uplifting speakers. Some of us walked away with some great auction items, but all of us left feeling inspired and fotunate to be able to give back to a necessary and effective local cause.
